5 Things You Didn’t Know About Your Houston Wedding Planner (But Probably Want To!)
Hey there, future newlyweds! I’m your Houston wedding planner, and I’m here to make sure your big day is nothing short of amazing. But before we dive into the details of creating the wedding of your dreams, let’s take a fun detour and get to know each other a little better!
There’s a lot you might not know about me—unless, of course, you’re reading this blog! So here are five things you probably didn’t want to know, but hey, let’s have some fun, shall we?
1. If You Hear 2000s Hip Hop, It Might Just Be Me!
Okay, okay, I promise I’m not blasting music when I pull up to your wedding! I keep it professional and turn the volume down before I get anywhere near the venue. But the truth is, when I’m prepping for a wedding day or an important meeting, you’ll definitely catch me getting pumped up with some 2000s hip hop. It’s my go-to playlist to get in the zone.
How boring would it be if your wedding planner showed up to your big day feeling stressed and low-energy? Not me! I’m all about bringing that positive, high-energy vibe to your wedding, because after all, this is the best day of your life! And I want to share that excitement with you. So, if you ever see me grooving to some old-school tunes before we meet, don’t worry, I’m just getting ready to create some wedding magic!
2. I Married My Husband—Twice!
Okay, this one might surprise you, but my husband and I actually had two weddings. Why? Because we wanted different things for our special day, and well, we’re both stubborn in the best ways. The first wedding was a small, intimate ceremony with 15 of our closest family and friends. It was put together in just two weeks, and honestly, it was perfect. A quaint lodge, good company, and a beautiful, quick ceremony.
But about a year and a half later, we had a bigger celebration that I had always dreamed of—complete with a wedding planner, florals, drapery, and even hair and makeup for me and the bridal party. It was everything I had imagined my wedding to be! So yeah, two weddings—one for him, one for me. But in the end, we both got exactly what we wanted. And that’s something I love helping other couples achieve, too!
3. I’m a City Girl at Heart!
Born and raised just outside the city, I’ve always been drawn to the energy and excitement of the city life. Houston is the perfect backdrop for love stories! From the hustle and bustle of downtown to the peaceful parks and gardens, there’s something so inspiring about all the unique stories I hear from couples and guests.
I could spend hours just sitting on a street corner, sipping my Starbucks, people-watching, and soaking up the sights and sounds of the city. I love hearing about how couples met, their adventures together, and the meaningful moments that led them to this special day. Weddings tell the most beautiful stories—and being a part of that is what makes my job so fulfilling.
4. I Do Not Like Vegetables (But I’m Working On It!)
Here’s a little fun fact for you: I’m from Wisconsin, and growing up there, the local diet was pretty simple—lots of meat, cheese, and potatoes (because, let’s face it, it gets cold). So, veggies? Not so much! I’d take a hearty steak or mashed potatoes over a carrot any day.
That said, a couple of years ago, I decided to grow my own garden, and I have to admit, homegrown veggies actually taste a lot better than store-bought! Plus, my little one is watching me closely, so I’m making an effort to eat more greens. If you’re a veggie lover with a secret recipe to make them taste amazing, hit me up—I could use all the help I can get!
5. Chocolate Chip Cookies Are My Weakness!
Alright, I’ll admit it: I may not be a veggie fan, but chocolate chip cookies are my ultimate guilty pleasure. I could live on them! And honestly, if you want to skip the cake at your wedding and go straight for a cookie bar, I’m ALL about it. I think it’s such a fun, personal touch that makes your wedding feel even more unique.
I’ve probably tried every chocolate chip cookie in town (Houston is full of amazing bakeries), so if you need recommendations for your wedding dessert, I’ve got you covered. Let’s chat cookies!
